Soot Sponge Test in Oxford, MA
After a house fire in Oxford, Massachusetts, smoke and soot residues had traveled throughout the entire lower level of the structure and latched onto the wall. Notice the extent of the soot damage; soot was all over the wall! One of the most common misconceptions after a fire is that if you do not see any soot on the wall, it means it was not infected. This is false. The after picture was taken only after a few soot sponges were applied to one side of the wall. In total, our crew used over a dozen sponges to remove the entire smoke and soot damage and make the disaster, "Like it never even happened."
