Flooded Office in New Bedford, MA
This flooded office building in New Bedford, MA was the result of a recent rainstorm that intruded the office through a crack in the base of the structure. Although it may not be apparent in the photo, the water was about two inches deep throughout the main level. The after picture was taken only one day after the incident. Our crews had to go in, remove the infected carpeting, and begin the dehumidification process. By extracting water vapor from the air, dehumidifiers lower the relative humidity, which in turn increases the rate of evaporation. In a water damaged structure, dehumidifiers pull in the moist, humid air and then discharge dry, warm air. After two full days, the disaster was "Like it never even happened."
